Extreme and, in the case of Ohio, illegal gerrymandering by the GOP has sought to create legislative districts in which their candidates can win elections and never be defeated. That's not democracy, because the GOP no longer wants America to be a democracy.

A favorite Republican passtime in which they compete to see who can come up with the most loathesome local, state, and national policies to make it more difficult for women, those with lower incomes, Black Americans, and young people to vote.

Even Trump's Justice Department declared the 2020 elections to be free, fair, and with no significant voter fraud. False claims against the validity of our elections by the authoritarian GOP seek to sow distrust and division. We call those "false claims" what they are: lies.
