Simon Rosenberg

Political Strategist and Commentator

About Simon Rosenberg

Simon is a highly regarded political strategist and commentator with more than 30 years of experience in national politics and television news. He has built a new home for his political analysis, commentary and live political discussions at Hopium Chronicles, an engaging new project on the Substack media platform.

Simon has advised elected officials and campaigns at all levels of government and across the country. His commentary and insights have appeared regularly in the country’s most important news organizations for decades. He was a regular guest on Fox “News” for over 17 years, logging thousands of appearances on the “Fair and Balanced” television network. Last year he received a great deal of notoriety for having been one of the only commentators who called the 2022 midterms correctly, as he rightly forecasted that a red wasn’t coming and that it would a much better for Democrats than conventional wisdom held.

Simon has served in senior roles at the DNC, DCCC and worked on two Presidential campaigns, including a leadership role in the Clinton War Room in 1992. He was instrumental in founding the House New Democrat Coalition, the donor advisory network, the Democracy Alliance, and was a leading candidate for DNC Chair in 2005. He began his career in the television news business, working as a writer and producer on both ABC News and Linda Ellerbee’s Lucky Duck Productions. In 1996 Simon started NDN, the political organization and think tank he ran until March of 2023. It was, during its time, one of the most influential political organizations in American politics.

Simon and his wife, Caitlin Durkovich, live in Washington, DC, where they have raised three kids and a spirited bulldog, Tug. Simon is a retired Little League baseball coach, a Crown Fellow at the Aspen Institute and was for many years on the Board of the Tisch School for Civic Life at Tufts University.

Democrats Keep Winning

Their nominee is far weaker than 2020. He is campaigning from the court house not the White House this time." And Democrats? They just keep winning.
